A full skirt of cream silk taffeta pleated to the waist with dark red and black rose design Jacquard ribbons midway and at the hem. Closed by two small metal buttons with dragon designs at waist. Two side seam pockets. A really special piece circa late 80's.
Graham Fraser and Richard Nott launched their company, Workers for Freedom in 1985, leaving behind their respective former careers as merchandising manager for fashion and accessories at Liberty in London and principal fashion lecturer at Kingston University. The company name was chosen to emphasise what they saw as their freedom from the large companies for whom they had previously worked. They won designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 1990.
