Sybilla Por Gibo Green Linen Dress Circa 80s
Beautiful early dress from Sybilla, featuring an empire waist with a tulip shaped skirt which is towards the hem. It has a shaped front hemline creating a petal like effect. Raglan cut short sleeve, fitted bust with yoke panel and deep pleats from under bust, pockets either side and deep pleat at center back. Closed down the front with 5 covered buttons and at the botton a silver pop stud. A dress you could easily imagine a wood nymph to wear.
This wonderful piece dates to Sybilla's collaboration with renowned Italian Manufacturer Gibo, who also produced collections with Jean Paul Gaultier and Claude Montana. Sybilla Sorrondo is a Spanish designer of Polish heritage - designing since the 1980’s, her garments often take inspiration from nature, origami, surrealism and the medieval period her pieces are always beautifully cut and equally distinctive. Sybilla's imaginative and clever pattern cutting is what makes her pieces so special and unlike anything else.
Fabric composition unmarked but I believe to be 100% linen.
