Mud silk trapeze cut lightweight jacket or blouse. A intricate and beautifully made piece by a collectible designer.

Loose a-line swing cut with side slits in mottled brown mud silk finished with tonal darker mud silk binding. One large covered button at neck and smaller shell buttons down placket. Wavy front button stand. Flared roomy sleeve with large fold back cuff and wavy hem. Pockets either side.  Mao style collar.

Sophie Hong is a Taiwanese designer known for her silk ‘Hong silk’ which is woven and dyed according to ancient traditional techniques. Rolls of silk are submerged in baths of bark or plant pigments and then are spread over iron rich fields where thy oxidise over several days. Nature and infinite patience create Sophie Hongs beautiful silks. Hong is a material alchemist giving silk the appearance of velvet or old leather but retaining silks lightness and sensuality. Hong's pieces are also  always exquisitely made with exceptional attention to detail.
