Elasticated waist. Wool and chenile diamond design textile. Crolla often used opulent furnishing textiles. This piece was sourced from a collection of Crolla pieces circa 1980s, unfortunately this particular piece has all it labels removed.
Scott Crolla didn’t just want to dress his customers, he wanted to upholster them in decadent Colefax And Fowler or floral damask from the Sanderson archives. "My clothes are for someone who disregards fashion but enjoys fabrics,” Scott once declared.
Crolla also indulged in pattern-clashing and luxe materials a decade before other fashion houses would, mixing chintz, ikat, plaids and paisley with velvet, brocade and lace. Crolla then went on to work for the Italian knitwear company Callaghan.
