Olivier Guillemin Grey Wool Military Jacket
A rare and special piece by the French avant-garde designer Olivier Guillemin. A wide cut military inspired jacket with epaulettes on the shoulders and a strap across the neck. This jacket is double breasted and unlined. The raglan cut sleeves which are finished with flat fell seams. Made of a wonderful quality grey mid weight wool. It comes with a matching belt.
Olivier Guillemin's work has always been part of a quest for innovation, through materials, colours and shapes since his fashion studies at Studio Berçot. First assistant to Thierry Mugler and Azzedine Alaïa, he decided to create his own label in 1986. The winner of ANDAM in 1989, he presented fun and futuristic fashion with spectacular runway shows in unusual atmospheric settings. At the same time, he was a creative consultant to large textile groups and trade fairs, and was artistic director of ready-to-wear and licensing for Paco Rabanne (1991-93). Joyce Gallery celebrated his career with a retrospective exhibition of his fantastic pieces in 2017.
Size unmarked, as it is a oversize piece I believe it would fit most - best to refer to measurements.
