Nanni Strada Purple Wool Voile Trouser Kilt

Purple and navy stripe wool blend pleated kilt with loose fit trouser under layer. Two shaped waist belts that button on either side across front. Side zip. Kilt is open at sides and can be tucked into the waist for a sculptural effect.

A hard to come by piece of Nanni Strada's early work.

Nanni Strada is famous for introducing a project driven language into the creation of fashion. Some of her projects include early examples of zero cut patterns and zero waste designs, reconfiguring a knitting machine to create seamless stocking like garments called 'skin' and her 'Torchons' pleated travel dresses which where a precursor to Issey Miyake's own pleated designs. Strada is a textile obsessive she loves spending time in factories and playing around with the possibilities of altering a textile through machines.
