Black silk full length skirt with fine hand smocked waist creating small pleats and pleated vertical tucks on hem. Closed with buttons down one side. Lined with a lightweight silk.

Julian Akers -Douglas opened her business in 1984 in Lewes in the United Kingdom, she  specialised in fine hand smocked garments which were handmade and took 28 days per garment to finish. She used only fine natural materials such as silk and linen and invented her own smocking technique ‘Barnham smocking’.
