IDOL Velvet Jacket with Gold Embroidery Detail

A magical dark brown velvet with a slightly crushed effect, sleeves have green and red inner panels. The sleeves are finished with spiralling gold couched rope embroidery that is inset with gems. Three gold latticed buttons close the front. Body is fitted and sleeves slightly fluted giving a medieval feel. Beautifully constructed, IDOL's embroidery was all done in house by hand.

IDOL was a London based label known for its luxurious textiles and hand embroidery, it was stocked at Charivari, L'eclaireur and Liberty Department Store but they also had their own store in Soho. IDOL garments were worn in Absolutely Fabulous and fans include Cher, Paula Yates, Helena Bonham Carter and Marilyn Manson.
