English Eccentrics 1985 'Gaudi' Mosaic Print Silk Shirt
From one of English Eccentrics earliest collections.
Screen-printed and discharge-dyed silk fabric with a design reminiscent of a mosaic of broken china fragments. The fragments depict fragmentary sections of mosaic, architectural drawings (depicting Corinthian pillar finials), and other fragments of pattern in brown blue gold and black.
Extra long sleeves which button at cuff. Bib front with a placket closed by buttons. Shaped shirt style hem which is longer at back and has godets on sides.
Named after Edith Sitwell's book of the same title, English Eccentrics established an international reputation for its distinct printed textiles designed by Helen David,
née Littman since they were first sold at a stall in London's Kensington Market in 1984.
Made in England.
